I am not ready for bikini season…
Well, here we are again. An entire fall/winter of not working out, eating WAY too many cookies and drinking WAY too much beer after “light” activities and I’m sporting the softness of a flat spare tire.
There is a way to combat this though. I’m not sure I have the will power to care enough to do it, but it is VERY easy to do. I’ve read that an adult needs to eat at least 1200 calories a day to keep the basics going well. That’s 8400 calories a week. I’ve also read that one pound of fat is the equivalent of 3500 calories. Let’s add in to the equation that I need to lose, oh, I don’t know (don’t fall for this. I know EXACTLY how much I want to lose at any given day), say 12 pounds…
Daily intake: 1200
My BMR: 2000
Difference: -800
Exercise: -200 (daily mean)
Gross daily offset: -1000
Calories per pound: 3500
Daily loss: -1000
If I don’t break down and eat a bag of cookies, that’s 1 pound lost every 3.5 days.
Or, put another, 2 pounds a week
That’s a pretty aggressive weight loss plan, but VERY doable. For proof on just how doable it is, check out this list of chow. While there isn’t a lot of variety in this, note the “0” calories for veggies. I know this technically isn’t accurate, but I don’t care. It’s close enough. I figure I can eat 12lbs of spinach every day if I want to. Or 4lbs of cucumbers. Or 2lbs of peppers. Whatever. If it is a not-sweet veggie, they don’t count. So, a salad with onions, pepper, tomatoes, and cucumbers and a splash of vinegar is zero calories in my world. The other freebies are mustard (brown and yellow only, unfortunately), plain vinegars (like red wine vinegar), spices, and some hot sauces (thank god). Check out the list:
150 .5C Oatmeal
150 1C Yogurt
110 Banana
100 Apple
140 4oz Chicken
140 4oz Chicken
50 3 Egg whites
70 3oz Tuna
0 Veggies
220 Popcorn
